It’s my belief that how you meet a person, is just as important as why. It was early summer last year and I was at a day party in Bushwick, just a few days after moving to BK from VA, so I really didn’t know anyone there. I happened to sit next to @antbluejr and we chatted for a bit about the usual - where we’re from, what brought us to NY, the weather etc. Although I can’t recall the details of that conversation, I do remember how it felt. It was like talking to a wise old soul who had probably seen some shit, but managed to maintain a sense of calm in any situation. lol
Since then I’ve followed him on Instagram and attended a few of his DJ sets, and what stands out always for me is his work ethic and positive mindset. There have been days where I’ve been mindlessly scrolling through IG and I’d come upon an @antbluejr story or post, and I’d be motivated to get off my ass and do something. Whether it’s through his photography, music or his iconic “Travel Day’ Campaign, I always get the message to be more. It’s not always about doing the most, it’s being/creating from a frequency level that inspires oneself and others to achieve their own greatness.
In the past few months I’ve adopted his brand motto BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, DO IT YOURSELF (BIYDIY) as one of my go to mantras. Most times when you’re starting out in any field, the people you look up to and even your closest friends may not see the power of the vision you have. It’s up to you to believe so much in yourself and in your vision to be able to withstand whatever obstacles you may face (Your clout awaits!).

What's the last dream you remember?
AB: Last night I had a dream that my brothers and I were playing a DJ set and none of us had the right equipment and there was a big crowd there but no one was mad

AB: Kelly Price Freestyle by KEY!
Describe both Dallas and NYC, in one word each?
AB: Dallas = Home // NYC = Work
Last thing you do before going to bed?
AB: Swipe through Instagram
What's your Zodiac sign and fav thing about being that sign?
AB: Aquarius - Im not sure, maybe its the go with the flow mentality, but I'm not sure if that fits the sign or if its just who I am
Go-to self care practice?
AB: Taking a shower and listening to music
What was your first job?
AB: I was a camp counselor for high school kids in this science summer program. Basically baby sitting.
How did the BIYDIY brand come about and where is it headed?
AB: BIYDIY started as a DJ tour with my Brother @AmericanMatthew. Once the tour ended we continued to push forward with it. Its heading world wide. The skys are the limits ya know?
What is one advice you'd give the millennial generation?
AB: Good things take time.
